For well-scoped, well-understood work with a clear spec. AI agent and RAG projects fall in this range, scaling with stakes and evaluation/guardrail complexity.
Retainer

For ongoing maintenance, support, or fractional technical leadership — including AI retainers covering agent maintenance, eval upkeep, and model updates.
We price as a value-arbitrage engineering partner: Western-grade rigor — architecture review, security threat modeling, evaluation suites — at 40–60% below US/EU agency rates.

How much will my project cost?
Most engagements run $60–$150/hr depending on scope and seniority, or a fixed price of $8,000–$40,000 for well-scoped AI agent/RAG projects. We'll tell you which pricing model fits after a short discovery conversation — not before we understand the problem.
Do you do fixed-price or hourly?
Both. Fixed price for well-scoped, well-understood work with a clear spec. Time and materials for exploratory or evolving-scope work — which is most AI/agent projects.
What if we're not sure AI is the right fit for our problem?
Tell us anyway. "Is this actually an AI problem?" is the first question in our process, before model selection or architecture. We've talked prospects out of building an AI agent when a well-built form and validation pipeline solved their problem outright — that's a normal outcome of a discovery call here, not a failed sales pitch.
What does your process actually look like?
Discovery, then an architecture-first plan reviewed before a line of code ships, then sprint-based delivery with transparent weekly progress, then a QA and security gate before anything goes live, then a real handover — documentation and runbooks, not just a codebase and a goodbye.
Do you only work with startups, or enterprise too?
We work best with startups and SMBs who need production-grade software without a full in-house engineering team, businesses adding AI capabilities without in-house AI talent, and companies modernizing legacy systems. If that's not you, we'll say so on the discovery call rather than take on a bad-fit project.
Where are you based, and do you work with international clients?
We're based in Nairobi, Kenya, and work with clients across East Africa as well as international clients in the US, UK, EU, and Gulf states, remotely.
